Importing a catalog
a. Click on "Suppliers" from main menu. (a)
b. Click on the "Catalog" link. (b)
c. Click on the "Import/Export" button and then "Import catalog". (c)
d. Click the "Choose File" button and select your file (Excel, CSV or ODS format).
The first time you import products we recommend you download our instructional template file that includes 2 spreadsheets, a catalog example and instruction. You can use our template to fill in your product or import your own file. Our import wizard will automatically recognize your columns and suggest how to tag them to SimpleOrder columns.
Your file columns appear on the left side. The dialog boxes allow you to modify our suggestions and tag your data in a way that works best for you. Once you’re done, just click the “Import” button. Your products will automatically appear in your supplier catalog with your own set of prices, ready to be used in your orders and reports.
If you’re not 100% satisfied with your results, there’s no need to delete the products you’ve just imported, just import them again with new tags or data. We recognize your products by their catalog numbers, so if they already exist, we just update your products and if not, we create new ones for you.
That’s it! You’re now ready to place new orders.
